Sam Cherry appears in The Wisden Cricketer

Under the title “Cherry on Top for Bucks” Sam Cherry appears in this month’s edition of the cricket magazine The Wisden Cricketer.

To quote “This year Buckinghamshire won the Minor Counties Championship for the first time since 1987 by beating Cheshire at Slough. Ben Spendlove, the former Derbyshire player, hit a defiant 91 for Cheshire before becoming one of five second-innings victims for 22-year old offspinner Sam Cherry who took 8 for 175 and made a valuable half century. Cherry is Buckinghamshire born and bred. His 40 Championship wickets included five five fours”

Sam played for Ickwell a couple of times this season in the East Beds Shield and in the final when Ickwell beat Ampthill he was named as Man-of the Match.
